Location: District 5, Za’atari Refugee Camp, Jordan.
Projects partners: Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Relief International, UNICEF.
Projects status: the center (4 classrooms) have been completed in late Spring 2016. The school opening has been held on July 28th, 2016.
Project description: this pilot project provides our local partners with a safe space where to grant remedial education programs, so providing additional support in four main subjects to the children and youth who attend nearby formal school, but for various reasons – classroom over crowdedness being the most notable one, perform very poorly in the exams and are in risk of dropping out of school. In the same centers, thanks to the possibility of a double shift, our local partner are also providing drop-out non-formal program. This program is accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Education and upon completition it provides recognized certificate equivalent to formal school. It is targeting youth who are not eligible to attend formal school (school drop-outs) but who would like to reenroll again.
